Texas State Krav Maga will offer several individual classes for learning different features of Krav Maga. Such features include a lecture portion to enhance awareness of the individual’s surroundings and the ability to avoid escalations and dangerous states of social interaction. There are also features focusing on the physical knowledge that comes with the Krav Maga technique, such as chokes, wrist grabs, head locks, and other forms of defensive action.

I did not base my choice on the authenticity of the arts I recommended, as I am well aware that Moni’s version of Krav Maga is no where near the original form, but on the effectiveness of the techniques. In my opinion it is still more effective than all the forms you mentioned except for MCMAP, which I did not mention as availability to train in it outside the US is almost non existent. All the best
This, however, is not Krav Maga as created by Imi Lichtenfield, and one should not be confused by the two. I personally think Moni just incorporated the word Krav Maga as a sales gimmick to attract people. Nonetheless, it is an effective martial art, and all of the moves and techniques are applicable in real life. I actually found a lot of similarities between Combat Krav Maga (CKM) and Combat Sambo, probably because both arts have roots in Jiu Jitsu.
However despite these differences Krav Maga is one of the best martial arts for self defense.​ You will learn both  gun and knife defense along with striking, grappling and much more. A long time ago (too long to be of use to me today), I took some martial arts classes. They had a different attitude toward belts. You could take classes without ever testing for any belt. Once the instructor decided you were ready, you would move up from the beginner classes to the intermediate and then advanced classes without needed a particular belt level.
There is value in all arts if taught well and practised diligently, but most schools fail their students in not providing realistic practise. You must have the techniques to what’s that are instinctive,

I have only trained in Savate unfortunately, but have found it to be quite effective as it has a lot of sparring. I would however rather recommend Muay Thai above Savate as their techniques are in my opinion more effective. None of the systems however have any knife or gun defences and you would therefore have to do a Krav Maga course inbetween to learn those techniques. All the best

Whether to start with karate or judo or takewando or kung fu or mauy Thai or BJJ or Krav maga or kick boxing or MMA .. I want to learn from basics every thing very clearly and correctly .. Wright from the practitioner level to expert level.. learning the right and effective form of martial arts has been my dream right from my childhood.. And now that I have got a chance to learn I really don’t want to waste my Time and money learning a kind of martial arts that would literally be off no use to me… Pls throw some light on it

Disclaimer: I’ve been training in jiu jitsu for over 8 years and have an MMA fight under my belt. So although you could say I favor those martial arts, the proof is in the pudding. If you want to learn actual self-defense, try some of the higher-ranked martial arts on this list. If you’re looking to get more of a mental workout, some of the lower-ranked ones will do the trick. Just don’t go picking any fights (but that’s a good rule in general).

Most martial arts training areas are padded, well lit, and free of objects. Natural environments couldn’t be more different! On the street you’ve got curbs, buildings with concrete corners and protruding edges, trees, cars, etc., etc. In rooms there is furniture everywhere. Self defense training must include training in these areas, along with the use of the environment. Learning to slam your opponent into objects and avoid getting slammed and tripping over objects is extremely important.

In martial arts training you can find depths far beyond the physical. There are many useful skills and attributes one can acquire through their study. Realistically, martial arts are like a large pool, you can go as deep or as shallow as you wish. That means you can safely focus on whatever particular aspect you find most fascinating. Simply stated martial arts can be as deep, rich and fulfilling or as shallow and one-dimensional as you want it to be.

Training methods are more important than techniques. With great training even relatively ineffective techniques can be made to work. But with poor training, excellent techniques will fail when you need them most. In fact, with poor training you probably won’t even have a chance to attempt a technique.
