In The Souls of Black Folk (1903), W. E. B. Du Bois theorized black life in a white supremacist society as experiencing one’s self as split in two, a kind of internalization of a social division that produced what he called “double-consciousness,” or “this sense of always looking at one’s self through the eyes of others, of measuring one’s soul by the tape of a world that looks on in amused contempt and pity.” Although one may view oneself as capable, beautiful, intelligent, and worthy of respect, the social institutions one inhabits can express the opposite view. Part of the experience of oppression is to live this othering form of categorization in everyday social life. Even when one consciously strives to resist denigration and to hold fast to a positive self-relation, the social hierarchy insinuates itself into one’s self-understanding. In the most intimate moments of introspection, a unified self-consciousness escapes us because our self-understanding can never completely break from the social relations and ideologies that engender it. Social conflict is internalized, and it takes great strength just to hold oneself together; to live as a subject when others view and treat you as little more than an object, and when you are denied the freedoms, security, and resources enjoyed by others. Ultimately, only by undermining the social conditions of oppression through collective resistance can the double-consciousness Du Bois describes become one.
An improved device for use in self defense training, as in karate and the like, includes a life-like articulated training dummy supported in an upright position on a post and having a plurality of separate pressure receptors disposed at various target locations in the dummy …
The hollowed out shape on the other hand also results in the bullet expanding when in contact with the target so the penetration can be controlled (too much penetration is not good!). Compared to the traditional hollow bullets which comes with an exposed lead base, the hollow point bullets have an enclosed base.
I recall one instructor who, after many years of training and teaching, tested for his second degree black belt. The testing instructor came from Japan to give the test. The black belt candidate was not informed as to whether or not he passed. About a year later, he happened to see the testing instructor at a martial arts event. At that time, he was informed that he had passed and now had a second degree black belt. So … not a black belt factory.
However, the drawback is that you need to dig in with your hands to get the ammo out which is rather tedious especially if they’re half used up. Nevertheless, it all comes down to your personal preference.

Richard draws a distinction between “social” and “anti-social” violence. In the former cases, a perpetrator is still somewhat rational, but in a temporary state of rage or mild impairment (“A good guy having a bad day,” as he puts it.) In the latter, you have the predators who don’t even understand why society has rules in the first place. The first scenario is much more common, and confrontations involving such people can often be defused.
It was designed by Mark Hatmaker to cover all ranges of combat. Video: Mark Hatmaker on martial arts training roadblocks and solutions for developing a practcial, diverse and effective technique palette.
TFT Is matter-of-fact, no-nonsense, effective training.  I’m a military combat veteran who has studied various martial arts and this program is unique in that its not a sport, its survival.  I spent  5 years in a state prison as well, (married, successful, and reformed now I might add).  I can assure you that the animals I was incarcerated with have no problems taking, hurting, and killing.  Wish I would have know some of this back then, might have avoided a lot of pain.   I plan on continuing this training as well as teaching my wife and son.
Flexibility work is slow paced and requires a lot of patience. The last thing you want to do is attempt to force your body into a deeper stretch in an effort to speed up progress. It won’t work, and you’ll increase your chances of injury. Instead, approach your stretches slowly, breathing deeply and allowing gravity to gradually take you further into the stretch. Over time, you will see your flexibility begin to increase
Fast, violent action is matter fact to the sport combatant…its nothing new…its easier for him (or her) to take on the extra dimension of lethality then it is for the so-called Lethal Martial artist to take on the extra dimension of violent, unpredictable, fast action.
Thanks to its effective grappling techniques, it is also widely used amongst MMA fighters. Though it has some limitations when it comes to striking techniques, its focus on tug-of-war type drills with partners has proven to aid its practitioners to succeed in real life altercations.
Most critics of this art point out that it is nearly impossible for the average black belt to catch a person’s punch and turn fast enough to perform this move, but that’s not true. It’s actually a very easy move to learn and perfect.
