There is no doubt you can wind up on the ground in a real fight. When this happens you want to get off the ground as soon as possible, if not, you need to get to a position of dominance. Proper Judo stresses pinning as well as submissions. Wrestling will train you to gain control but it will also allow you to give up your back and BJJ, with excellent submissions and ground work that is second to none, will train you to wait – both giving up your back and waiting are not advisable in a fight.
History: Boxing as a sport dates back nearly as far as humanity, with the earliest depiction being found on an ancient Sumerian relief (a flat-background sculpture common throughout the ancient period) dating as far back as the 3rd millennium BCE. As such, it became one of the most commonly practiced forms of recreational hand-to-hand combat in the western world pretty much throughout the entirety of recorded history. The first rules weren’t introduced to sanctioned boxing, however, until 1743, when champion Jack Broughton realized that boxers needed some measure of protection to keep them from dying in the ring – a fairly common occurrence. To this day, boxing is still one of the world’s most popular sports, both for recreational viewing and exercise. And, with the looming matchup between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather now a real thing, it doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

If you study any martial art long enough, it should serve you well in a hand-to-hand type of self-defense situation. But from a prepping point of view, you don’t want to spend 20 years practicing before your chosen martial art is useful in a real world situation. So this post will review various martial arts, to see which ones provide the most useful skills and knowledge, in the least amount of training time… in my not-so-humble opinion.
Moving on to the bullet characteristics, it comes with 20 rounds altogether, fitted in a convenient and portable box. The projectiles are arranged neatly in an organized manner, for simple handling in the middle of busy shooting session, for your added convenience. In terms of usage, it is commonly used for self-defense or home defense in which you don’t have to use up multiple rounds at once.
Krav Maga is a good overall system of defense that’s easy to learn and good for all ages. Jiujitsu is another one well suited especially for women who are often the smaller, weaker component in an altercation.
I will say you don’t need this for self defense, but having 3 black belts and ranks in several other arts I understand the need to study, grow, learn, and be a part of a great social structure that is the dojo.

Since the world is a big place, I have probably missed many martial arts that are also aimed at self-defence (or at least can be used for that purpose). This article is also based on my personal opinion so it’s not written in stone. So once again, speak your mind.

If you are an individual that needs to learn over time and enjoys structure, then martial arts can provide a lot of benefits including increased strength, proficiency, accuracy and coordination. You will learn at a slower rate which allows you to examine resistance and flow of movement. Over time, you will develop proficiency and confidence, that you can apply to your everyday lives.
